Generally, the mornings are the best time of day for paddling, the earlier the better. By mid to late morning the boat traffic on the Lake increases, creating sometimes choppy conditions. It is also common for winds to pick up in the afternoon, also creating choppy conditions. Some of our favorite paddles are also in the evening when boats may be off the Lake for the day, and the alpenglow colors make for a really special experience.
